Job Description

Job Overview:

The Assistant Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales, service excellence, and overall performance in the region. This role includes achieving sales and service targets, ensuring compliance with company processes, managing customer relationships, optimizing costs, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the sales team. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, results-driven individual with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Targets: Exceed sales and service targets across all product ranges.
  2. Metrics Achievement: Meet predefined key metrics, including:
  3. Number of customer visits.
  4. Enquiry generation and conversion.
  5. Number of product demonstrations.
  6. Quotations generated.
  7. Installations and customer training.
  8. Collections of receivables, EMD, SD, BC, etc.
  9. Profitability: Meet profit targets through protection of gross margins and cost optimization.
  10. Customer Base Growth: Increase customer base year over year.
  11. Installations & Service: Ensure installations and servicing meet the company’s quality standards and guidelines.
  12. AMC Generation: Ensure timely generation and execution of Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) in line with customer agreements.
  13. Stock Management: Oversee stock management and rotation to ensure product quality, maintenance, and availability.
  14. Customer Interaction: Audit customer interactions to assess service levels and ensure compliance.
  15. Marketing & Promotions: Collaborate with marketing to execute campaigns, promotions, and other marketing activities effectively.
  16. Competitor Analysis: Conduct quarterly competitor activity analysis to stay ahead in the market.
  17. Product Innovation: Actively identify opportunities for introducing new products and vendors to enhance the portfolio.
  18. Company Strategy: Effectively implement company strategies to drive regional sales growth.


Reporting & Administration:

  1. Process Compliance: Ensure adherence to company rules, regulations, and processes within the regional sales team.
  2. Expense Management: Manage travel and conveyance expenses, ensuring cost optimization and compliance with company policies.
  3. Vendor & Employee Payments: Ensure timely payments to vendors and employees to maintain smooth operations.
  4. Team Meetings: Conduct weekly team meetings to monitor performance, discuss challenges, and plan sales activities.
  5. Data & Reporting: Ensure accurate data entry into the ERP system and timely generation of reports, including sales quotations, purchase quotations, employee leaves, and expenses.
  6. Regional Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate submission of regional sales reports to the Director, Head Office, and Management.
Requirements
  • Qualifications:
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • • Strong understanding of sales processes
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • • Ability to analyze data, identifies trends, and makes strategic decisions
  • • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • • Knowledge of market trends and competitor activities
